Greek Fir (Abies cephalonica)
Greek Fir is an imposing evergreen coniferous tree, endemic to Greece, while on the island of Cephalonia there is the world's only pure forest of the species, at Mount Ainos. It has pyramidal shape, green leaves and straight trunk. It grows in different soil types but thrives on fertile, deep and moist soils. It has no problems with pests and diseases, and it is a particularly resistant coniferous tree in drought, shading and high temperatures.
Thanks to these characteristics, the Kefalonian Fir tapped properly in gardening as well as in landscape architecture.
