It can be planted in almost any type of soil, which is rich in humus, has excellent drainage, and is acidic or slightly alkaline. A feature of English Yew Pyramid is the production of new shoots and branches on older ones, a fact that has long been used by gardening as well as landscape architecture, to create living fences, with simple or elaborate shapes. In addition to the hedges, the English Yew Pyramid is also planted as an individual tree or in groups.
