The Sago Palm (Cycas revoluta) is one of the most beautiful and classic plants of gardening and landscape architecture. It belongs to the Pteridophyta, although due to its appearance it is easily passed for Palms, it is very slow growing and small to medium sized gymnosperm, which can reach a height of 7 m after at least 50 years. The Sago Palm has large, compound even-pinnate leaves with dark green leathery leaflets and usually a thick and strong trunk. From the inside of the foliage develops a large central bud which carries the reproductive organs of the plant, male or female arranged in inflorescences. Sago Palms are easily grown in medium or light textured soils and in areas where there is no frost, although fully established plants can withstand temperatures well below zero for some time. It is used planted in gardens and business premises, while as a potted plant, even inside homes or offices, it creates an exceptional impression.
