Majesty Palm (Ravenea rivularis) Plant

The Majesty Palm (Ravenea rivularis) botanically belongs to the family Arecaceae. It has an impressive appearance, moderate growth rate and it's a large size palm tree, which can reach its natural sites at a height of 30 m after at least 25 to 50 years - while in cultivation it will rarely exceed 20 m. The Majesty Palm has large, arched, pinnately compound leaves with dark green leaflets and usually a medium thickness and sturdy trunk, which has a characteristic bottled-flattened shape from the base to just before the canopy of the plant. From the inside of the foliage breeds the flower axis, which carry yellowish-white flowers on panicle inflorescences. The Majesty Palm is easily grown in any type of soil (except alkaline and calcareous), , which never dries, and in areas with increased humidity where frost does not prevail. It is planted in parks, squares, wide islets of streets, on large sidewalks, and gardens, as well as in business premises. The most suitable places for its development are located next to riverbeds, lakes or in the lawn.
