The Potato Vine (Solanum jasminoides - syn. Solanum laxum) is a perennial evergreen or semi-evergreen climbing plant. It has compound leaves of light green color, and white or bluish-white flowers. Flowering occurs from the beginning of Summer and lasts until Autumn. The Potato Vines are easy-to-grow plants that grow well in well-drained, light to medium-sized soils. They thrive in sunny places, but can withstand light partial shade - however, with reduced flowering. Potato Vine can be used, among other things, in plantings to cover any type of pergola and trellis, as well as to create a natural plant fence even in coastal locations.
