Yellow Trumpet Vine (Campsis radicans 'Flava') Climbing Plant

Yellow Trumpet Vine (Campsis radicans 'Flava'-syn. Bignonia radicans 'Flava') Vine Plant - Climber Flowering Plants. The Campsis radicans, botanically a member of the Trumpet Vines (Bignoniaceae) family, is native to the central and eastern regions of the southern United States and Canada. This species includes the cultivar 'Flava'. It is a large climbing plant, which thanks to its aerial rootlets can reach a height of about 10 m, even using trees or surfaces for support. It is perennial and deciduous, has a fast growth rate, high canopy density and a multi-stemmed climbing appearance. The leaves are opposite, odd pinnately compound, smooth-textured, ovate with dentate margins, whose lamina is bright green in colour. The monoecious flowers, borne on a cyme inflorescence, are yellow in colour, funnel in shape and support a long period of flowering, which may occur from mid-summer to late autumn. The Yellow Trumpet Vine is an easy-to-grow plant, has no serious pest and disease problems, and has minimal maintenance requirements. It can withstand both very high and very low temperatures as well as drought. However, its growth is favoured when placed in direct light or semi-shaded areas, with normal humidity levels, and fertile soils with excellent drainage. The Yellow Trumpet Vine is utilized as a climber for creating a hedge, as well as in pergolas or trellises. It is also planted alone, or in group plantings and compositions. Its good tolerance to salt sprays also allows it to be grown in seaside gardens.

► It is offered at a price determined by the particular characteristics of the plant, such as the size of the pot, its height, age and shape. Large plants are also available for sale (and planting) upon prior arrangement. In any case, the price or prices listed are indicative.
