The Cotton Lavender (Santolina chamaecyparissus) is a perennial, aromatic plant of the Asteraceae or Compositae family. It is of Mediterranean origin with an attractive appearance of an evergreen undershrub, extremely resistant to drought and salt droplets. It has a spherical shape and small pinnate leaves, strongly aromatic, grey in color. In mid-Summer, July to August, the entire plant is covered with spherical, pom-pom-like, yellow flowers. It grows in a variety of soil types, even in poor calcareous soils, except of heavy clay soils. Its cultivation does not present particular difficulties and it is used both in the garden and in the pot. Since it is used to create a low border, some pruning - especially after flowering - will make it more dense and compact.
► It is offered at a price determined by the particular characteristics of the plant, such as the size of the pot, its height, age and shape. Large shrubs are also available for sale (and planting) upon prior arrangement. In any case, the price or prices listed are indicative.
