Shining Mandevilla (Mandevilla splendens-syn. Dipladenia splendens) Vine Plant - Vine Flowering Plants. The Shining Mandevilla, belongs botanically to the Apocynaceae family. It is native to several regions of Brazil. It is a medium to large-sized climbing plant, which, thanks to its ability to twin, can reach a height of about 8 m, supported on trees or surfaces. It is perennial and evergreen, with a fast growth rate, high canopy density and a climbing habit. The leaves are opposite, smooth-textured, ovate with wavy margins, whose lamina is bright green in colour. The single flowers, borne on raceme inflorescences, are pink in colour, funnel in shape and appear from early summer to mid-autumn. The Shining Mandevilla is a relatively easy plant to grow, but it is not at all tolerant of low temperatures and frosts. Its growth is favoured when it is placed in sunny or semi-shaded areas, with regular moisture levels and fertile, well-drained soils. The Shining Mandevilla is utilized as a climbing plant for creating a hedge, as well as in pergolas or trellises. It is also planted as specimen, or in group plantings and compositions. Its good tolerance to salt sprays also allows it to be grown in seaside gardens.
► It is offered at a price determined by the particular characteristics of the plant, such as the size of the pot, its height, age and shape. Large plants are also available for sale (and planting) upon prior arrangement. In any case, the price or prices listed are indicative.
