Pink Trumpet Vine (Podranea ricasoliana) Climbing Plant

Pink Trumpet Vine (Podranea ricasoliana-syn. Bignonia 'Contessa Sara') Climbing Plant - Vine Flowering Plants. The Pink Trumpet Vine belongs botanically to the famoly of Bignonias (Bignoniaceae). It is believed to be native to various regions of the southern African continent. It is a medium-sized climbing plant, which, thanks to its ability to twin, can reach a height of about 5 m, when supported on trees or surfaces. It is perennial and evergreen or semi-evergreen, with a fast growth rate, medium-dense crown and a climbing habit. The leaves are opposite, odd pinnately compound, smooth-textured, ovate in shape with entire margins, the lamina of which is green in colour. The monoecious flowers, borne on terminal panicle inflorescences, are pink in colour, tubular in shape and appear from mid-spring to mid-autumn. The Pink Trumpet Vine is a relatively easy-to-grow plant. It can withstand high temperatures and light frost, as well as drought. Its growth is favoured when it is placed in sunny areas, with normal moisture levels, and fertile - not clayey - soils with excellent drainage. The Pink Trumpet Vine is utilized as a climbing plant for creating a fence, as well as in pergolas or trellises. It is also planted as specimen, or in group plantings and compositions. Its good tolerance to salt sprays also allows it to be grown in seaside gardens.

► It is offered at a price determined by the particular characteristics of the plant, such as the size of the pot, its height, age and shape. Large plants are also available for sale (and planting) upon prior arrangement. In any case, the price or prices listed are indicative.
