Marjoram Packet 10g Seeds (Origanum majorana). The Marjoram (Origanum majorana) botanically belongs to the Lamiaceae family. It is a perennial aromatic plant, which reaches a height of about 0.6 meters. It has pink or white flowers that appear from mid to late Summer. It produces abundant grayish-green, smooth leaves that can be used as a decoction (tea) or added as a spice to meats and fish. Also, essential oil is extracted from the leaves of the plant, which give off an aroma strongly reminiscent of oregano. The essential oil is used in the pharmaceutical industry as well as in perfumery. Marjoram is grown in slightly alkaline, calcareous soil and in sunny locations.
