American Sweetgum Tree (Liquidambar styraciflua) 

The American Sweetgum is a slow growth rate impressive deciduous tree. It is used in parks, squares, avenues and broad streets, and shading in the garden. It is oval-shaped and medium textured foliage. The leaves are dark green in color, the trunk with deep grooves is dark gray, the branches, slightly rising upwards, are gray - red  the younger and darker the mature. It is a cold-resistant tree with foliage very attractive in autumn thanks to its bright yellow, orange and orange-red colors. Grows in acidic soils and is one of the most useful trees in gardening and landscape architecture.
