The Spotted Laurel ‘Crotonifolia’ is one of the most popular Aucuba varieties thanks to its evergreen (Spotted) leathery leaves, which are green with yellow speckles. Although primarily used as an indoor plant, it can be comfortably planted externally in the garden because it is extremely durable and easy to grow. Spotted Laurel needs fertile soil with very good drainage and a slightly acidic reaction, while the addition of organic matter to it helps to better develop it. Appropriate positions for Spotted Laurel are 'croton' or 'shrouded'. Botanically, Spotted Laurel is a dioecious, that is, there are male and female individuals, which means that the attractive red glossy fruits formed on the female plants require the presence of males for the fertilization of the flower. In order to make the best use of the Spotted Laurel landscaping features, it is recommended when planting in the garden, planting in groups of at least three plants.
