Russian Sage (Perovskia atriplicifolia-syn. Salvia yangii) Plant - Flowering Plants. The Russian Sage botanically belongs to the family Lamiaceae or Labiatae (Lamiaceae or Labiatae). It is native to various regions of central and southwestern Asia. It is a subshrub-herbaceous, perennial and deciduous plant, with a fast growth rate, erect habit and oval shape, with a dense crown and a height of about 2 m. The oppositely arranged fragrant leaves are glaucous-green in colour, lobed, simple, ovate-lanceolate with dentated margins. The Russian Sage blooms from late spring to mid autumn. The tubular-shaped bilabiated flowers, borne on a panicle inflorescence, are violet in colour. The Russian Sage is an easy-to-grow plant that is adapted to a variety of soil types (with excellent drainage) and environments. It has virtually no problems with pests and diseases and can withstand both very high and low temperatures and drought. It can be used in many ways, such as as a border plant, in mass plantings and in compositions with other plants as well as in pots and planters. Furthermore, thanks to its high resistance to salt sprays, it can also be planted in seaside gardens.
► It is offered at a price determined by the particular characteristics of the plant, such as the size of the pot, its height, age and shape. Large plants are also available for sale (and planting) upon prior arrangement. In any case, the price or prices listed are indicative.
