The Salvia botanically belongs to the Mint family (Lamiaceae or Labiatae) and is native to areas from Mexico to Southwest Texas. It is a herbaceous or woody sub-shrub, perennial and semi-evergreen plant, with a medium growth rate, rounded shape and rather arching habit, with a relatively dense canopy, reaching a height of about 90 cm. It can be used in many ways, such as as a border plant, rock garden plant or planted with other herbaceous to create colour and other compositions.
