Judas Tree (Cercis siliquastrum)

Judas Tree or Koutsoupia or Kotsikas or Mamulia has not only a multitude of names but also abundant blooming in pink-mov colors, which appears at the beginning of spring on its still bare branches and lasts until the end of April. In its natural state it can also be in the form of a large bush. As a tree, it is medium in size and average growth rate reaching a height of about 10 m and having a crown diameter of 7 to 8 m. Extremely durable, it can be adapted to a variety of soil and climate environments. From the poorest soils to the most fertile and from the busy atmosphere of the cities to the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas, Judas Tree grows equally well. A precious tree for gardens, gardening and landscape architecture, in 1994, thanks to all of its features, it received the first prize from the famous Royal Royal Horticultural Society.
