Jerusalem Sage (Phlomis fruticosa) Shrub - Evergreen Ornamental Shrubs. The Jerusalem Sage botanically belongs to the family of the Lamiaceae, is a native plant of Greece and originates generally from Eurasian regions of the Mediterranean basin. It is a shrubby, perennial and evergreen species, growing up to 1,5 m high. It has a fast growth rate, an upright habit and a spherical shape. The leaves, which are similar to those of Salvia, are glaucous-green, simple, coarse, ovate-lanceolate in shape with entire margins and covered with fine hairs. The flowering of the monoecious plant occurs from late spring to early summer. The flowers have a tubular shape and are yellow in colour. The Jerusalem Sage is extremely easy to grow. It can be planted in almost any soil type, acid to alkaline reaction, as long as it has excellent drainage. It tolerates low temperatures, very high temperatures, drought and salinity. It can be used both in gardening and in landscape architecture, planted alone, in groups and in compositions with other plants. Thanks to its resistance to salt sprays, it can even adorn seaside gardens.
► It is offered at a price determined by the particular characteristics of the shrub, such as the size of the pot, its height, and age. Large shrubs are also available for sale (and planting) upon prior arrangement. In any case, the price or prices listed are indicative.
