Japanese Barberry Shrub (Berberis thunberbii ‘Atropurpurea')
Japanese Barberry is a perennial deciduous shrub with deep reddish-brown leaves, which in autumn become orange-red. It is spherical in shape, of moderate size and medium growth rate, while its branches have 1-1.5 cm long thorns. It flowers at the end of spring, showing small, light yellow flowers, which also succeed in small but red decorative fruits. Its cultivation is not a problem because it is a bush of particular resistance to pests and diseases that can be planted on any type of soil, which drains well. It adapts to a variety of climatic environments, even in the overwhelming atmosphere of cities, and is also resistant to cold. Thanks to these features, Japanese Barberry is a valuable plant for the garden, gardening and landscaping.
It is offered at a price determined by the particular characteristics of the plant, such as the size of the pot, its height, age and shape. Large shrubs are also available for sale (and planting) upon prior arrangement. In any case, the price or prices listed are indicative.
