The Flowering Quince is upright growth, perennial thorned deciduous shrub. It has medium to large size, medium to fast growth rate and ample impressive flowering with red flowers that appear before the leaves. It belongs to the beekeeping plants, while its characteristic is the fact that if planted in regions with mild winter, it can bloom even from mid-January. After blooming, the greenish-like fruits are formed that look like small quinces and are suitable for consumption either fresh or as preserves, jellies or jam. Hard and without special requirements shrub, adapts to a variety of soil types of textures and structure.
