Aleppo Pine (Pinus halepensis) Conifer Tree - Coniferous Plants-Pines. The Aleppo Pine botanically belongs to the Pine family (Pinaceae). It is native to many areas of the Mediterranean basin, where it forms extensive forests with large populations. It is a thermophilic evergreen conifer of medium to large size, reaching a height of up to about 25 m. It has an moderate growth rate, an upright habit and a spherical, ovoid or open shape, or even completely deformed by wind action, especially in coastal exposures. The pleasantly fragrant leaves are needle-shaped, arising in pairs, have green or yellowish-green colour, and are entire, waxy or fine-textured. The Aleppo Pine is extremely easy to grow as, as a native species of the Greek flora, it is easily adapted to the appropriate environments. Apart from clay soils, it is adapted to various soil types, from moderately acidic to very alkaline, with excellent drainage. It can be planted even in calcareous soils poor in nutrients and can withstand frosts, high temperatures and drought. It is used in both gardening and landscape architecture, planted alone, in group plantings or to create tree rows and shade areas. And of course it can also be planted in seaside gardens.
► It is offered at a price determined by the particular characteristics of the conifer plant, such as the size of the pot, its height, age and shape. Large conifer shrubs and trees are also available for sale (and planting) upon prior arrangement. In any case, the price or prices listed are indicative.

They are also suitable for coastal plantings, as well as for the planting of rock gardens, while their use is also indicated in areas with little water (as the islands), due to their increased resistance to drought. |
