OKATSUNE 307 Thinning Shears for Harder (Woody) Stems
OKATSUNE 307 Thinning Shears for Harder (Woody) Stems - Shears-Secateurs-Pruners. The Okatsune 307 is a very light and sharp thinning shear with a short blade (1cm shorter than the 304). The shears are designed specifically to cut harder (woody) stems, such as when cutting, harvesting and thinning vegetables and fruits. The sharp, ultra-thin blades (2.3 mm) ensure that you can reach even the narrowest places, for example when thinning grapes, pears or apples. The blades of these Japanese thinning tools (Mekiri Basami) are uniquely forged from superior quality IZUMO YASUGI steel and have a very high Rockwell hardness of 59 to 60. As a result, the blades remain sharp for a long time and consistently give a clean and precise cut in the wood without a particularly high effort. In addition, the Okatsune 307 combines hardness with functional flexibility, so that the cutting blade is always aligned with the opposite blade, even after intensive use. Still, the blade is ground at two angles so that it cuts smoothly through wood and does not unnecessarily injure the plant. Due to the unique shape of the hollow ground blade, the juice flows away from the blade and the blades do not separate. The V-shape of the spring ensures that the cutting load is evenly distributed along the entire length of the spring, making it soft to close. The Okatsune 307 is not suitable for cutting branches.
