FSC Forest Stewardship Council

PEFC Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification

PEFC stands for Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. The PEFC did not create the requirements for forest management itself, but uses internationally established criteria endorsed by 149 countries. In addition to economical and ecological requirements, the PEFC also prescribes strict social conditions in respect of social working standards (International Labour Organization). The PEFC also assesses the entire supply chain.
