The Japanese Aralia or Fatsia (Aralia sieboldii - syn. Fatsia japonica) is an evergreen shrub of medium size, spherical shape, and impressive upright appearance. The leaves, which are the main ornamental element of the plant, have a palmate shape, are large with a width of up to 40 cm, have a leathery texture, and a strong dark green color. The Japanese Aralia does not present difficulties in cultivation, nor does it have special maintenance requirements, while it can be used both as an indoor plant and externally planted in gardens.
