Fiskars Pro Isocore Wood Splitting Maul 92.1cm 3.6kg - Splitting & Chopping Axes-Hatchets. Ergonomic mauls from the renowned Finnish company Fiskars (founded in 1649). The maul's fully hardened, precision-sharpened blade stays sharp longer and has a low-friction coating that resists rust and allows for smoother, easier cuts. The forged high quality steel head has a splitting face for forcing wood apart and a driving face, which can be used to drive wedges or struck with another tool during splitting to help force the wedge. The industry-leading and patented IsoCore™ Shock Control System absorbs up to 50% of the shock and jarring from impact. The treated SoftGrip™ handle made of PVC-free glass fibre reinforced plastic has surface protrusions with additional shock absorbing capability, thereby offering the user a secure yet comfortable grip, and even having a texture that helps to minimise friction by noticeably reducing blisters. The Wood Splitting Maul is suitable for splitting hard wood. It should be noted here, that this tool design has been implemented to exceed US standards for impact tool durability to withstand the harshest working environments.
