Annual Species & Varieties of Low Vegetation
EUROFLOR Ground Cover 1kg Seeds Mixture for Urban Meadows - Urban Meadows Seed Mixes. As its name suggests, the Ground Cover seed mix gives a low plant set with height varying from 20 to 45cm. This mixture is particularly useful where limited plant height is important e.g. visibility at roadsides, corners and roundabouts where narrow lanes are required, such as surrounding tree areas. However, note that the mixture is not suitable for use in heavy shade. Ground Cover includes annual varieties, with a preference for dwarfs. Flowering is successive as purple and white Alyssum gives way to yellow California poppies, followed by Centaurea cyanus, Malcolmia maritima and Linum grandiflorum 'Charmer Mix'. The end of the season finds the urban meadow supported in color by Callistephus chinensis, flowering until the first frosts. The mixture has fairly low irrigation requirements.
► For seeding, pre-treatment similar to that of turf installation is required, while irrigation is required at least during the first stages of plant's establishment and periods with very high temperatures
► The mixture includes the following species and varieties: Alyssum maritimum 'Tapis de Neige', Alyssum saxatile 'Compactum Violet Queen', Calendula officinalis 'Fiesta Gitana', Callistephus chinensis, Centaurea cyanus, Convolvulus tricolor, Coreopsis tinctoria, Eschscholtzia californica 'Ballerina', Godetia grandiflora, Iberis umbellata, Linum grandiflorum 'Charmer Mix', Malcomia maritima, Nigella damascena 'Miss Jekyll', Tagetes patula 'Naughty Marietta'
► If no seeding takes place in subsequent years, the abandoned urban meadow will have about 30% of its flowering plants in the second year and 10-15% in the third year

No Genetically Modified Seeds
|
|
| In addition to pollinators, a variety of insects, small herbivores and birds will benefit from the food source and shelter provided by the foliage and cover of the flowers. So they will take advantage of the coolness of the leaves of plants that provide moisture, enjoy the shade from the sun and consume the food from the small fruits and seeds produced in the urban meadow. | Euroflor seeds are produced using traditional plant breeding methods. NO GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS (GMOs) are carried out. The (Non GMO - Non GMO) seed is produced by numerous, small-scale growers from different geographical locations with different soil types and climatic conditions, thus ensuring genetic diversity. |
