The Common Lantana (Lantana camara) botanically belongs to the family Verbenaceae. It is a perennial, erect, evergreen woody shrub, of medium height and fast growth rate. The flowers of the Common Lantana, which appear from mid-Spring to mid-Autumn, are its dominant decorative element. They are carried on an umbel-like inflorescence, and acquire successive yellow, purple, red, and orange colors. The plant is extremely easy to grow, adapts to many different soil types, as long as they are well drained, while withstanding air pollution, salt sprays, drought and frost.
