The Variegated Incense Cedar is native to Western North America, and botanically belongs to the Cypress family (Cupressaceae). The cultivar Calocedrus decurrens 'Aureovariegata' (syn. Libocedrus decurrens 'Aureovariegata') is highly ornamental tree with variegated foliage. It is a long-lived evergreen conifer, tall, upright in appearance and pyramidal in shape. It has a slow growth rate, leaves are linear-needled, shiny, greenish-green and also yellowish in places. Its cultivation is not difficult as it is not often affected by pests and diseases and it is adapted to many soil types (except heavy clay soils) with an acidic to neutral reaction and excellent drainage. In areas with hot summers it is recommended to plant it in shaded areas. Variegated Incense Cedar is utilized in both gardening and landscape architecture as a dominant plant, in group plantings, or to create hedges.
► It is offered at a price determined by the particular characteristics of the conifer plant, such as the size of the pot, its height, age and shape. Large conifer shrubs and trees are also available for sale (and planting) upon prior arrangement. In any case, the price or prices listed are indicative.
