The Breckland Thyme (Thymus serphyllum) is a small, evergreen herb belonging to the Lamiaceae family. It grows slightly in height and very wide, as it can spread up to 2 m, a property that makes it one of the most valuable ground cover plants. Its long-lasting attractive flowering is especially remarkable. Its flowers appear from late spring to late summer, are pink-mauve in color, and being numerous, they literally hide the plant. Its cultivation is always carried out in sunny places and in light to medium textured, neutral or alkaline, soils that drain well, while it does not face problems from pests and diseases. It is planted alone or in groups, having the ability to create even an alternative lawn in dry and very poor soils. In addition to its ornamental use, it is exploited both as a medicine and herb and as a flavoring in cooking and confectionery as well as in cosmetology.
► It is offered at a price determined by the particular characteristics of the plant, such as the size of the pot, its height, age and shape. Large shrubs are also available for sale (and planting) upon prior arrangement. In any case, the price or prices listed are indicative.
