CULTIVATION

1. Growing area:
Put the block at a cool, shady place, with natural light (in a storage room, patio, yard, at a place protected from wind, under stairs, in the kitchen, in a greenhouse). Avoid heat sources like the boiler room or near the radiators. If you want you can built an improvised cover to put in under.

2. Light
Pleurotus mushrooms need light. Put the block in a place with natural light, but not in direct sun.

3. Temperature
The ideal tempetature for the mushroom growth is 6-18°C. When the temp. is under 6°C it won't go bad, it will just take more time to grow. When the temp. passes the 25°C though it won't grow.

4. Water - Moisture
Put the block on a surface that will always be wet (foam, a basin, the ground, a cloth, etc). Spray its surface using a small spray bottle 4-5 times a day until the mushrooms grow a little.

Attention! They don't need water inside the block. The ideal room moisture is 85-90%

5. Harvest
Under the ideal conditions the mushrooms will start growing in about 7-14 days. Pich them when they reach your ideal size or when they stop growing at all. When it's time just pull them all at once from the hole. Don't use a knife. From the same spot they will regrow after you repeat the previous steps.
The estimated harvest is 3 to 5 kiloes of mushrooms.

When the block stops producing mushrooms don't throw it away, but recycle it by embodying it into the soil of your garden as a fertilizer.
