Greek Oregano (Origanum vulgare) is a small-sized perennial shrub that is indigenous to Greece. It reaches a height and diameter of 20-50 cm , has small, ellipsoidal to almost rounded leaves, white flowers and a root which is transformed into a wooded rhizome, from where the new shoots emerge every year. It is extremely easy to cultivate, since it is planted in very well-drained soil and in sunny position. Using the appropriate soil mixture can also be planted both in pots and window boxes. The Greek Oregano is a plant that should not be missed by any Mediterranean garden.
